As you are getting into the first lectures of the course, we wanted to start with giving you some idea of what to expect in regards to content and structure.

So you are aware, this course has been built around a "practitioner–scholar model" of instruction.

In that, it is our desire that this course imparts a lot of practical application points for those who work as behavioral health providers and/or other change-work professionals

But students of this course should know that the curriculum also includes many lectures that focus on research/scholarly articles and other resources, as it is also our desire to help form the thinking/conceptualization process of our students as they consider developing their own frames and methods for the course material.

For the text-based portions of this program, the awarding of continuing education (CE) credits in the program is calculated using the format of 1 credit hour for each 6,000 words of home-study text, or 0.25 continuing education (CE) credit hour for every 1,500 words of home-study text. This metric for calculating text-based portions of the program has been field-tested by PsychMaven for this course by looking at the average reading speed, along with successful knowledge attainment, from a neurologically diverse group of qualified learners.

Field testing averages were also confirmed in examining average read time for text-to-speech software (Speechelo and Adobe Reader were those that were used for the testing). Increments of less than 1 credit hour will only be counted above the first credit hour in this program.

This course has been designed for practitioners at the graduate level or higher. And though all helping-professionals, and even those just interested in the topic, are welcomed to take this course, please note that research, as well as application, will be explored through the curriculum.
